OUR WORK IN THE COMMUNITY

KAPUSKASING, ONTARIO 2025

THE FOREST COMMUNITY RENEWAL PROJECT

On June 28, 2025, our team officially launched the Forest Community Renewal Project (FCRP) in Kapuskasing, Ontario. The FCRP is an initiative that brings forest communities together and builds pride in the steady work and opportunities that this enduring industry provides. An integral part of the initiative is an event that celebrates sustainable forestry values, the abundance of the land, and reciprocity between land and people. The FCRP is a movement to inspire the next generation of forest workers within the local community. And of course, a movement to plant more trees!

PLANTING & COMMEMORATING

On June 28th, 2025, over 10,000 native spruce trees were planted along Swanson Road by our tree planting crews. Later that day, the community event and planting ceremony unfolded in Riverside Park, just steps from downtown. We came together to eat, play, share stories, and engage in a ceremonial tree plant. We installed a plaque and landscaping site with native trees, shrubs, and grasses as a tribute to our intention to elevate and celebrate the local forestry history in the town. Each tree planted during this event carried a deeper meaning, honouring different layers of the Kapuskasing community.

During the event, our landscaping ceremony was conducted where each tree planted stood as a symbol of thanks, memory, and vision. While our event manager guided us through each motion with intention, our staff, local community members, and donors joined in to plant each tree.

THE RIGHT PLACE TO BEGIN

Kapuskasing was the perfect place to begin this journey. A town shaped by its relationship with the forest, where the value of the land is known in the rhythm of everyday life.

This event was not only a success because of the trees we planted or the ground we covered. It succeeded because of the people. The ripple effect of their care, their collaboration, and their belief in community could be felt in every aspect, every laugh, every handful of soil.

We are honored to have brought this event to life and to have connected with the local community and businesses.

Thank you Kapuskasing, for your hard work, authenticity, and continued efforts of pouring into your community and land for abundant future generations.

THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS & COMMUNITY PARTNERS

We extend our sincere thanks to the Arbor Day Foundation and the Sensenbrenner family for sponsoring the event and supporting our tree planting initiative. Their commitment made it possible to bring this project to life in a meaningful way. We’re also grateful to our community partners—Kap Paper, GreenFirst Forest Products, and the Town of Kapuskasing—for standing behind the work and helping carry it forward. Special thanks as well to the local businesses we collaborated with: First Nation Timber, Kap Office Pro, and the Royal Canadian Legion. Their involvement grounded the event in the community, and we were proud to make it happen together.

“As a local business in the stationery and office supply industry, it’s not lost on us that many of the products we work with every day come from trees. That’s why supporting Integrity Reforestation’s event—by helping with their printing needs—meant more than just a job. The work you do is incredibly important, not just for our environment, but for the long-term sustainability of other businesses, our health, and our future. This event was a beautiful opportunity to bring people together of all ages, spark meaningful conversations, and shine a light on the importance of reforestation and environmental stewardship. It also served as a celebration of Kapuskasing’s forestry legacy—a true pillar of our community. We were proud to play even a small role in something so impactful, and we believe the work you’re doing will continue to benefit generations to come."
