Job description

The Camp Operations Assistant is a key member of our seasonal operations team, responsible for supporting the daily functioning of remote reforestation camps across Northern Ontario. This role ensures that the camp runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently so that crews can focus on field productivity.

Working under the direction of the Camp Manager, the Camp Operations Assistant supports camp setup, camp cleanliness, meal services, equipment organization, sanitation routines, laundry, kitchen assistance and general camp upkeep. This position is ideal for someone who loves the outdoors, doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty, loves camping, thrives in a team-oriented environment and enjoys working outdoors in a unique, community-based setting.

Skills

Required

  • Strong work ethic and ability to complete physical tasks.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work in a team-focused, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift 25–50 lbs regularly (water containers, supplies, etc.).
  • Flexible mindset—comfortable taking on a wide range of tasks.
    Respect for safety, cleanliness, and camp policies.

Preferred

  • Experience in camp work, hospitality, kitchen assistance, labour roles, or logistics.
  • Valid driver’s licence (for supply runs).
  • Experience in outdoor, remote, or community-living environments.
  • Basic mechanical or tool-handling skills are a bonus.

Compensation

  • $17.60/hour
  • Expected to work 8 hours/ day
  • All meals and transportation between camp and work sites included.

Anticipated Start Date: May, 2026.
